Brief History:
Things were looking bleak for the Thompson family before Cole’s birth. His parents [[both of magical blood]] had already had three children together, but two of them were Squibs [[of magical blood but not able to do magic]] and the other had died in a road accident a few years prior to Cole arriving on the planet. Yuki and Simon Thompson were devastated – how would they ever manage to pass on the magical gene now? Their only hopes could barely cast a simple spell – how would they produce children of a sufficient quality for Hogwarts? And then – Yuki became pregnant for a fourth time, giving the whole family hope. A few months later [[nine, to be exact]] the fourth and final Thompson child was born – Cole Efraim Thompson. Although it took a few years for them to be completely certain, Yuki and Simon quickly gathered that he, like his elder deceased sister, was born to be a wizard, and a successful one at that. Needless to say, the older children were heavily jealous of the young boy, for their parents were actually proud of him, unlike how they behaved with the two non-magical children. Due to this, Cole was pretty much tormented and bullied by his siblings all the way through his childhood until he reached the age of eleven. They even encouraged their friends and their friends’ little siblings to be mean to him too. If not for his parents’ love, Cole would have run away a long time ago. But no, he stuck with his guns and stayed at home, facing the bullies every day until he received a letter . . . from an owl? After opening it, he found out that he had been accepted into Hogwarts School of witchcraft and wizardry, much to his parents’ joy. After travelling to the school through Platform 9 ¾ and the Hogwarts Express, he was sorted into Gryffindor, which wasn’t all a bad thing, although his parents had hoped for him to be in Ravenclaw. At least he wasn’t a hufflepuff. Three years have passed, and now Cole’s about to start his fourth year. ‘Nuff said.
